Hi, I setup Xeams a long time ago to simply send a few emails as notifications from a program i use. It's been working fine but now its not. I think it is because my machines IP changed. I clicked on the admin console icon and it loads the localhost website, however it is asking for a login and password. I do not remember having an account for this when i set it up a couple of years ago. What do i do to troubleshoot the program? i can't login, and cant reset the password, it just gives me an error, i cant create an account or anything.

if i try to create it says Your email address does not belong to a domain that is considered local to this server. You cannot create an account for a non-local domain.

Thanks

Chuck

Hi Chuck,

You can try resetting your admin password.

Please follow the steps to reset your admin password:

1. Locate the installation folder of Xeams on your machine. Default installation directory is as below:

Windows - C:\Xeams
Linux - /opt/Xeams
QNAP - /share/MD0_DATA/.qpkg/Xeams or /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/Xeams

Note: The number in the directory may vary

2. Locate config/sm.dat file and rename it to something else or move it to a different folder

3. Restart Xeams (use the service manager to restart it if you are using Xeams in Windows)

4. Try logging in again using admin for user and letmein for password

5. Change the admin password on the following screen to something else

Hi Chuck,

i'm using a QNAP NAS TS251A.

But i couldn't find "/share/MD0_DATA/.qpkg/Xeams or /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/Xeams"

So i can't change the password to default.

The answer form QNAP: i must ask Xeams. Looks like ping pong :-(

Have you any suggestions?

Thanks

Are you connecting to QNAP using SSH or are trying to find this path from its web interface? You must use SSH. Call our support department if you can't find it. We can do a remote screenshare to see what is going on.
