I am using Xeams for DKIM, and set it as smarthost for exchange's send connector.

When I see the message header, I can see the internal IP of my mailbox sever as:

Received: from [(192.168.1.47)] by Xeams-VM with Xeams SMTP
192.168.1.47 is my mailbox server ip, Xeams-Vm is the host name for our Xeams server.

How can I remove or hide this?

You cannot remove these headers. Every SMTP server, including Xeams, will insert headers that can be used to trace the message. Try looking at a message you received from Gmail or hotmail.com. They will also contain headers that are on your internal network.

May I know what the reason for removing them? This is not a security risk if that is what concerns you.

I need to hide the Local (LAN) IP address of my mailbox server which is 192.168.1.47.

I had applied the PS command on my exchange to hide the other exchange related LAN information from the header.

PS command example:

 [PS] C:\>Get-SendConnector "EdgeSync - Datacenter1 to Internet" | Remove-ADPermission -User "NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON" -ExtendedRights ms-Exch-Send-Headers-Routing

So I need to hide the line where is says:

Received: from [(192.168.1.47)] by Xeams-VM with Xeams SMTP; Sun, 10 Dec 2017 08:58:32 +0300 (AST)

If this is possible please let me know.

Thanks

This cannot be done in Xeams as the feature does not exist. The PowerShell command you posted above will only change how Exchange behaves - it will not have any effect on Xeams. We can certainly add a feature request for a future release. I am going to forward this message to our dev. team.

Just for curiosity, what is the purpose of hiding this?

Recently having issues with Yahoo, as wouldnt send emails to yahoo mailboxes. So there were some complaince requirement from yahoo, like SPF,DMARC,DKIM,RDNS fix etc.

So configured Xeams for DKIM. Just to be on safe side as the header dont provide some extra internal LAN info.

Thanks for having this as a feature request, will be glad to get it.

I have the same issue. it does not look professional to show your LAN Ip and internal server names. It should only show Public IP for PTR and reverse lookup. I think it would be good add-on  and very much in need.
