Hello, I am still unable to send and receive email with Xeams 7.0 build 8081, set up as stand alone, (from outside domain addresses inbound to server from internet as well as receive the same). I currently have high speed internet through cable (comcast). I have Xeams installed on a Qnap TS669Pro. All ports configured for external router firewall to access the Qnap on ports 2572, 25, 143, 110 for Xeams. Ports are configured inside Xeams to match. Domain and DNS configuration is also in place online and refers to local internet IP from comcast. I have two diagnostic emails from senders trying to hit my mailbox from internet side. Seems as though the port 25 will not communicate. I have tried changing the smtp port in Xeams to another obscure port and opening it on the router to get out but still cannot receive or send email out. Emails stay in the outbound repository. I get a "[Failure reason: No server listening on port 25]" in the log file. If my ISP was blocking port 25 by default I would think changing to another port (that I know is open) should alleviate the issue. I tried that and it did not. I tried to confirm this with ISP over chat and phone but after 2.5 hours of talking to various people, being put on hold etc. I tried to escalate the ticket up when the rep tried to close it because my "internet" was working ended up being hung up on. Have yet to call back to confirm ISP blocking 25 or others. However you can telnet into the port 25 from outside. It does not do anything but connects nonetheless which would lead me to believe the ISP is not an issue.
Thanks. |

What type of connection do you have from Comcast? Is it static or dynamic. Note that default is dynamic and Comcast will typically charge you extra for static. Comcast blocks port 25, which is used for email delivery if you have a dynamic IP. Please confirm with Comcast if port 25 is open both inbound and outbound. |
