HI,

After an upgrade to my Qnap, all local users are not able to access the Xeams server via Imap or pop. The server is active as I can see it receiving mail from the outside world, but the inside world is blocked from accessing it. I don't see anything in the logs that would suggest wrong passwords, or failed auth attempts ... I had thought that it was a binding problem, but I've changed the binding to the IP address, all unassigned addesses and nothing seems to make any difference.

I didn't change anything in the xeams server before upgrading the Qnap, so not sure what the problem is ....

This is happening across platforms and mail clients, so it's got to be something with the server

TIA

Ken

Try the following:

  • Restart Xeams and watch Xeams.log to confirm if IMAP and POP3 servers did not run into any problem starting up
  • Use Telnet to confirm TCP/IP port is open. You can do that by opening an SSH session to QNAP and typing the following command:

    telnet localhost 143

Change the port 143 to the appropriate port on your end. You should see the IMAP  banner. Is not, something is wrong starting the server. Contact our support via email in that case.
  • Change ImapConversation.log to confirm clients are connecting from other machines.

Contact our support via email if you're unable to figure it out from the logs.
