Hello, I just changed the external FQDN of my Xeams mail server, which is used as Spam Filter. This meant that messages to the users had the wrong Server Name to access the Restore Email page. Xeams would have liked me to go into each user profile, individually changing the setting for "Server Name". What I actually did, was to * stop the service * open UserConfig.xml * search and replace <old.sever.name> with <new.server.name> * restart the service What is the reason or advantage for setting this value per user? |

Connection URL often depends upon where the user is connecting from. Certain firewalls do not allow users inside the LAN connect using the FQDN typically used from the Internet. That is the reason why Xeams allows changing the URL on a per user basis rather than setting everyone to the same value. We recommend you specify the correct value for Preferred URL under Server Configuration. Users will inherit their connection URL from this value. |
