Hi, I have been running Xeams in Firewall mode for several years now. However; now I need to convert it to Hybrid mode (or should I say I want to convert it). The idea is to try it out for a new domain as a possible full replacement for Exchange. What do I need to do to convert to Hybrid mode except flip the switch? Is there any "pre-steps". I am running what I believe is the latest version: Version 7.0, build 6082. Thanks, Tom |

There is no pre-steps. Just go to Server Configuration and modify the type. |

Hi, Okay, that didn't work. I'm guessing that there are additional steps. My first guess is that I need to rearrange the settings so that the hybrid server has the inbound port from the firewall and not the smtp proxy. Is there anything else I should do?
Thanks,
Tom |

The Hybrid mode has nothing to do with Proxy vs Regular SMTP. It should work even with the Proxy Server. Could you please elaborate on what do you mean by "It does not work"? The only difference between Hybrid and Firewall mode is the use of POP3/IMAP servers in Xeams. In Hybrid mode, Xeams will create a user repository that is accessed by POP3/IMAP servers. So are you trying to connect to either POP3 or IMAP servers on Xeams and are they not working? BTW, regardless of the mode (hybrid or firewall), you should switch to the regular SMTP server. Refer to https://www.xeams.com/SwitchingProxy2Regular.htm for instructions as well as rationale for switching.
