Hi... I installed your Qnap Package from your download page, but I cannot stop or remove it!

When I select Stop or Remove under the Qnap App Center, I get the usual "Are you sure" pop-up, then I click the OK button and the message below the Xeams icon says "Removing", but after a few seconds the message goes back to the standard "Open" link :(

What's going on and could anyone please help me out with this?

Cheers,

Anthony

QNAP maintains a list of installed packages in /etc/config/qpkg.conf file. The actual package for Xeams is installed in  /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/ folder. I have a feeling that the uninstaller on your QNAP is removing the actual files but is unable to modify the conf. Modify the conf file and deleting the actual folder manually should remove it.

Please note that we are not as familiar with the QNAP environment as QNAP's support. Therefore, I'd recommend contacting them to ensure these steps are correct.

Thank you very much for your reply. I did send your reply to Qnap Support and they replied with the message below... unfortunately I am having trouble with deciphering yours and their instructions :( I have been able to successfully login to my Qnap to display the command prompt via Putty the software, but then it all starts to go over my head :(

I realise you're not familiar with Qnap, however you do offer a Qnap download on your website so surely somebody there has instructions or the know-how on how to uninstall it? Would you be able to help me out with some simple step-by-step instructions to remove your software please?

Just a suggestion, but maybe your instructions to me could also be added to your Qnap download page to help other Qnap owners.

" In general, when you install the qpkg file, it will automatically create the configuration file, /etc/config/qpkg.conf

Please access the NAS by SSH, then you can use the vi command to check the qpkg.conf.
