Good Morning,

Just installed Xeams in Spam Firewall Mode, I can used it without problem for outbound message. But for inbound message I have a problem all valid Emails entered in my Exchange server are rejected so I go the the log and it seem's that the validation is made BEFORE sending the mail to Exchange ?? Do I also have to enter all my domain Email in Xeams or I have a setup problem, here is what I saw in the LOG

85] S <-- 250-SIZE 20971520

2020-06-03 08:56:55,215 - [ 85] S <-- 550 5.1.1 <ErasedRecipientName@datadis.com>... User unknown

I changed the Email name before @ in MAIL FROM: and RCPT TO: retain anonymity of the sender and recipient, the RCPT TO is a VALID EMail recipient in my Exchange server, but I don't see
any communication to Exchange before the validation is made ?

Thank's for any help !

Sylvain

I forgot to say that I'm using Exchange 2016.

Do I have to add a Dynamic Recipient Verification on port 2525 for my domain ?

Hi Sylvian,

Since you are using Exchange 2016 and if you want to use DRV, you will need to make sure to include port 2525 for your doman.

Please check https://www.xeams.com/reject-exchange.htm for additional instructions.

Hi,

Think that I have nothing to change in my Exchange server because the Telnet myserverechangehere 2525 is already working !

So only adding a DRV:

datadis.com myexchageserverhere 2525 and click ADD SERVER  shoud do the trick ! :)

Thank you,

Sylvain

Good Morning,

Since I'm using XEAMS as a Spam Firewall for my exchange server do I have other choice than using DRV for user authentication, What I would like to do is exactly what ZEROSPAM is doing right now, all my MX record point to their services and after analyzing the EMAIL those are forward directly to my Exchange server !

I think that I have something WRONG in my configuration, because in the user of XEAMS I have my account and when I redirect port 25 to XEAMS and I received an EMAIL from ZEROSPAM Xeams immédiatly report this

2020-06-03 08:56:55,211 - [        85] C --> RCPT TO:<MyEmailAcoount@datadis.com>
2020-06-03 08:56:55,215 - [ 85] S <-- 550 5.1.1 <MyEmailAcoount@datadis.com>... User unknown

So There is any document that I can review to understand how user authentication work in XEAMS when using it in Spam Firewall mode

BTW this installation setup change from Stand alone server Mode to Spam Firewall can it be the problem and I forgot to erase a configuration ?

Any checklist that I can review ?

Best Regards,

Sylvain

Sylvain,

I recommend you call our support department and we can get it working the way you like. You can either call us or send us an email.

Answers to your questions are following:

  • Authentication is not required for inbound email. As long as the recipients email address is valid, Xeams will accept it.
  • There are 3 ways to check if a user is valid:
    1. A local user exists in Xeams
    2. A local user exists in Exchange and the DRV feature is configured to check with Exchange
    3. You integrate Xeams with Active Directory
