I would like to attach network storage to store Mail Repository on Network Drive.

If I copy UserRepository, and later create symbolic link would it work?

What would be the best procedure to move Repository to Network attached drive?

Please refer to https://www.xeams.com/userrepositorylocation.htm for instructions on how to move the repository to a different path.

However, I would not recommend putting it on an NFS partition. It is common to run into network problems occasionally, which will make the path inaccessible. Consider the following example,

  • You have mounted an NFS partition on /mnt/bigDisk/XeamsRepository/Spam
  • If the network connection breaks, Xeams will not be able to see anything beyond /mnt/bigDisk
  • Since the remaining path does not exist, it will end up creating a local folder

As I said, you won't run into this problem right away. However, it is very likely that eventually you will run into this problem and you will end up creating local folders preventing you from mounting again.
