Hi, I have Version 4.8, Build 5803 currently. I do not allow automatic upgrades, as I don't like to be surprised. I have tried the upgrade function and it has failed to do an upgrade. The running version stays the same. Following the advice given here: http://www.xeams.com/manuallypatching.htm I have performed a server reload several times, but the upgrade does not happen. In ./patches I have ----rwx---. 1 197608 197121 139201 Mar 4 2015 Patcher.jar which is pretty much what I expect from the above manuallypatching.htm page. But Patcher.jar doesn't appear to be getting run. In the coming weekend I think I may attempt overwriting .lib/Xeams.jar and unpacking webfront.zip in to ./webfront but I'd like to know if anyone has had to solve this before.

Richard, First, remove SynametricsCommon.jar from this folder - you don't need that. Second, make sure you restart from the web interface. Restarting from command line (/etc/init.d/xeams start|stop) is not going to run the patch routines. Therefore, login into the web interface and click Restart from the "Server Options" button you see on the right hand side.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I removed SynametricsCommon.jar and tried the restart again. The web interface printed things about shutting down then a countdown appeared. Unfortunately the result is the same: the java runtime is not running, and when started Xeams is not updated. Do you have any more suggestions?
Cheers.

Richard, Please call our support department on Monday. We will have to further investigate this. This method should have worked. Imran |
