Hello Xeams,

I did not upgrade my Xeams at all since I heard about the licencing change. I am currently on the Xeams 5.3 build 5859, I did not downgrade, I just did not upgrade to newer builds. However this morning I was unable to login to the web control panel, I had to fill in my details to request a serial. After filling in the details my Xeams installation converted to a trial with 28 days left. I thought the new licensing policy did only applied on new installations/newer versions.

I specialy did not upgrade my Xeams version to a newer because of the licensing model. But it is sad too see that Xeams is also forcing to pay for older builds. I run a mailserver for my family home-use with 11 users, that means that I have to pay for 25 pack = $300,- / year that is far too much, there are much better (hosted for you) solutions. (eg. SpamExperts) It feels like "randsome" because my old build is forced to the licensing policy. I accept the licensing policy for newer builds. But this change also applies on older builds and this will definitely consider me switching to another product.

SpamExperts is definitely cheaper if you don't care about privacy.

No, you buy a 10 pack and 1 single license...

but i agree, i also use it for Personal/family only and even $200 is to much..

After using Xeams for over 3 years I realized how easy it is to see someone else's emails if they go through a third-party server. Even though I am using Xeams in a very small environment, I am happy to pay a small fee and host my server where no one can see my messages but me. Hosting your email server on a third-party is definitely not good in terms of privacy.
